Scopely and WWE have announced a brand new partnership between the two companies, and appearing out of that partnership is a new wrestling themed game called WWE Champions. You may be thinking, “Well of course it’s a wrestling themed game, WWE is involved right?”. Well you’re right, with the exception that this is not your standard wrestling title.
Instead of just picking your favorite wrestler and heading out into the ring, players will be provided with a Puzzle-RPG style of a setup. Players will have a way to gather and play as one of over 100 different Superstars and Legends in the wrestling world. While your character is wrestling his opponent, you’ll be controlling the moves and the power of each one of these through match-3 puzzle gameplay.
WWE Champions has already been out in test markets according to Scopely, which basically means that these days it is being beta tested in select regions. There is no official worldwide release date for WWE Champions outside of ‘later this year’ for Android and iOS. As for pricing, this is liberated to download and play with optional IAPs being available. We will post an update after we have more details. For now you can check out the game’s first trailer below.
